Water Better than Sanitizer for Influenza A!
You know, it almost makes me laugh. We have this tendency to be so crazed about so many things. I’m no different.
We learn one little thing – or read some advertisement – and then build our whole lives around it being true.
Until, suddenly, it isn’t.
This is a good example of what I’m talking about.
This article sites a study that found that just plain water is more effective at killing the influenza A virus than our trusty “kills-99.9%-of-viruses-and-bacteria” hand-sanitizer!
Ha! Who knew?
Well, they had to be more specific in the article stating that it really depends on whether the virus-carrying-mucus is wet or dry. If it’s dry, then the sanitizer is fine. But if it’s wet, then the water is better.
Obviously, hand sanitizer is probably still a good thing to carry around. I just think these sorts of ‘discoveries’ are kind of funny.
Maybe I’m the only one.
