A Fishy Suggestion to Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease
Yesterday I posted a link to my online supplement store through Fullscript where you can get discounted professional-grade supplements.
Let me be up-front: I am not a proponent of people taking a basketful of supplements every day.
Many people get sucked into the hype and fads of all kinds of herbal and vitamin products.
And even though there may be benefit to many of them, I believe people should spend more time, money and energy on what they eat, and not on the pills they swallow.
Having said that, there are a couple supplements that are probably a good idea for most adults to take.
Fish oil is one of them.
Unless you eat fish as a regular part of your diet, you could probably benefit from taking it.
In fact, this study in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that “Marine omega‐3 supplementation lowers risk for myocardial infarction, CHD death, total CHD, CVD death, and total CVD” and that “Risk reductions appeared to be linearly related to marine omega‐3 dose.”
Fish oil can lower your risk of heart disease!
This is kind of a big deal – especially in a country where heart disease is the leading cause of death!
So, chances are, if you are an adult, you’re at some risk for heart disease.
Since there are relatively few side effects of fish oil (apart from a mild blood-thinning property – so talk with your doc if you are already on blood thinners), I think it is a very reasonable supplement to add to your program.
I take OrthoMega 820 from Orthomolecular. You can find it on my Fullscript dispensary.
Also, for those of you who have read this far, since I don’t personally like having to mark my calendar for upcoming sales, I’ve started the Black Friday sale today.
You can get the 20% off starting today – and I’ll leave it up through Cyber Monday.
So, consider ordering some omega-3 Fatty Acids! Yay!
