Happy Veterans’ Day

DrColler General

Today is an important and special day. Although, some of us might be a bit detached from its significance, many others are acutely and powerfully aware.

To those of you who have served or are loved ones of someone who has served, thank you so very much.

The people of this country enjoy freedoms and benefits that could only be possible by the hand of God and the willing hearts of the brave men and women who are willing to contend for it.

Although we who have never served cannot fully appreciate your sacrifice, we are deeply grateful.

As a civilian, I personally think that it is good to occasionally expose ourselves to the uncomfortable world that exists outside our protected bubbles.

This might mean traveling to see first-hand what life is like in the harder places of the world, visiting a memorial or museum, reading a book or watching an historically accurate movie portrayal of military events.

I know that for me, it humbles and me and makes me more grateful.

So, I encourage you to make your next travel destination, movie or book selection one that will increase your awareness and appreciation for our armed forces. I believe you will be better for it.

And to those who serve or have served, again, thank you. We are so grateful.
